    Introducing Shannon, an Apprentice Draughtsperson working with Subsea Innovation in Darlington, UK.

    Since joining the engineering team in July 2021, Shannon has completed HNC Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering whilst contributing to several exciting subsea equipment design projects. Shannon is starting a 4-year Product Design and Development Engineering Degree to further develop her experience and capability.

    Shannon says “I enjoy gaining on-the-job experience with Subsea Innovation and developing my skills in CAD software while studying. I particularly enjoy producing complex CAD models and drawings.”

    Introducing Steven, Tekmar Group’s Accounts Receivable Coordinator based in Darlington, UK.

    Steven is part of the Group Finance Team. He is responsible for end-to-end project receivables, including financial due diligence during the tender stage of a project, working with the project team to ensure invoices are raised promptly during execution and making sure payments are promptly received at the end of the project.

    Steven says, “I love the role because it’s so varied. I’m involved in a variety of different-sized projects and engage with customers around the world.  The role hones my Credit Management skills, making me a better Credit Controller.  80% of a credit role is about doing the small things right. Doing each little stage correctly makes everything a lot easier. The other 20% is the fun stuff. Working with customers to ensure we are paid on time, whilst keeping everyone happy.”

    Introducing Simran, an enthusiastic and passionate Geographical Information System (GIS) Analyst working with Ryder Geotechnical in Newcastle, UK.

    A key part of Simran’s role is to provide GIS analysis and geotechnical design support for offshore wind turbines on global offshore wind projects.

    Simran says, “My role allows me to be creative and analytical simultaneously, which I love. I feel like I am working on something important for the future of renewable energy. I am passionate about contributing to making a difference and being myself.”

    Introducing Thomas, Operations Manager for Pipeshield International, based in Lowestoft, UK.

    Thomas manages Pipeshield’s operational departments, including the project management and technical team. He is responsible for ensuring projects are executed successfully and to customer expectations which involves working with the sales team to ensure the right resources are in place to deliver incoming projects. Tom often works internationally, supervising operations in various regions of the world.

    Thomas says, “I am motivated by the challenge my role delivers. Making important decisions daily that impact project delivery and the company’s success makes me feel like I’m making a difference. The team at Pipeshield make the role enjoyable, and we get to deliver quality products and solutions in interesting locations worldwide.”

    Introducing Lauren, an experienced Project Manager working with Tekmar Energy in Newton Aycliffe, UK

    Lauren is one of Tekmar Energy’s key points of contact for customers and internal stakeholders. Lauren is responsible for delivering offshore energy projects from sales handover to offshore installation and project closeout.

    Lauren says, “I love the responsibility of being involved in such high-profile projects and working with experienced and renowned industry customers.  I’ve been lucky enough to manage projects for some of the biggest wind farms in the world. It’s challenging but incredibly rewarding to see our products support the growing offshore energy markets.”

    Introducing Daniel, a Graduate Analysis Engineer working with AgileTek Engineering in London, UK.

    As part of Daniel’s role, he examines subsea cables using 3D simulation software whilst working to optimise the cable protection systems that we provide to protect cables in harsh conditions from long-term wear and tear.

    Daniel says, “I appreciate the space AgileTek gives me to grow and work things through independently. This has allowed me to develop a good understanding of the role and develop skills and competency quickly. I find the work structure compelling due to the level of autonomy and feel a continuous sense of achievement on completing smaller objectives combined into more significant deliverables for our clients.”

    Introducing Khalil, a Design Engineer at Subsea Innovation based in Darlington, UK

    Khalil joined Subsea Innovation in October 2019 as a Graduate Design Engineer. Khalil has recently been promoted to Design Engineer following the successful completion of an in-house graduate training program and contribution to some exciting subsea design projects.

    Khalis says, “I really enjoy the teamwork aspect of my role, which is more enjoyable by the team around me. I also enjoy seeing the journey of our engineering solutions from concept to completion on various exciting projects.”

    Introducing Kelly, Tekmar Group’s Financial Controller based in Darlington, UK.

    Kelly is part of the Group Finance Team and is responsible for the financial reporting and data for several of the Group’s companies. Kelly engages with multiple functions and people across the Group.

    Kelly says, “I really enjoyed maths at school and went on to do a GNVQ in Business, where I enjoyed the accounting modules.  This naturally led me to do my AAT qualification and finally complete my studies by achieving my ACCA status in 2008.  I love working with others in the Group and understanding how our businesses operate so we can work together to improve and achieve our objectives.”

    Introducing Andy, Tekmar Energy’s HSE Lead based in Newton Aycliffe, UK.

    Andy looks after the Health and Safety of all employees at Tekmar Energy whilst ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO45001.  Andy works closely with all departments and individuals at all levels of the business to assess, educate, advise, and research matters about Health, Safety, and the Environment.

    Andy says, “I’m enthused by Tekmar’s fantastic team, which comprises short and long-serving employees with a wide range of knowledge and experience. We work well together and are open to new ways of thinking. Combining a great team with a company focused on the welfare and well-being of its employees produces a challenging, forward-thinking, considerate, and welcoming working environment.     Callum uses 3D simulation software to build models of subsea cables and runs simulations representing offshore environmental conditions to assess the mechanical limits of the cable.

    Callum says, “I love my role at Agiletek. I am continuously learning in a welcoming and friendly work environment. My personal development has been accelerated by the independence and trust I have been given, with supportive colleagues’ helping when needed. The offshore industry is fast-paced and exciting.     Andrew has the unenviable task of keeping our IT alive and kicking. Andrew is responsible for maintaining, managing, and modernising IT infrastructure and business systems across the Group, ensuring it is robust, secure, and fit for purpose.

    Andrew says, “IT is the most omnifarious role, and I love its challenges. I enjoy working with everyone at Tekmar Group and interacting with every part of the business. It keeps me occupied and engaged with two days never the same.”
