The Role
Tekmar Energy is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis with the potential for the role to move to a permanent basis.
The role purpose:
- Work within the HSEQ team to develop, implement, and continually improve our client’s projects, quality standards, and company systems
- Ensure that all relevant documentation/certification is acquired and available for products supplied, whilst ensuring they conform to the order specifications
- Support the identification and processing of any non-conforming or rejected parts or products
- Provide management system reports, maintain and update electronic information systems, distribute documents, and ensure accuracy of all documentation in line with the company procedures and policies
Key Responsibilities
- Support in the delivery of external inspections
- Contribute to management reports
- Data gathering & analysis
- Manage and verify supplier documents and certification
- Perform or assist with internal audits and participate with external audits
- Maintain and update calibrated equipment and the calibration register
- Maintenance and improvement of the approved supplier list/system
- Maintenance of HSEQ management system, documents & records
- Management and record-keeping of HSEQ reporting (Observation Reports, Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, Audits, and Incident Reports, etc.)
- Development of project quality plans and inspection & test plans
- Identifying, investigating, and reporting of non-conformities, including root cause analysis
- Trend analysis and implementation of corrective actions via LEAN, 8D, Six Sigma, etc. processes and methodologies
Continuous Improvement and Safety Culture
- Manage and drive continuous improvement activities
- Promote a positive quality and safety culture proactively
- Support product cost reduction with a clear focus on the cost of poor quality analysis combined with improving behaviors towards the right-first-time goal
FMEA/NCR/CAPA
- Lead FMEA risk assessment activities and ensure that all failure modes for process issues have been identified and addressed
- Lead problem solving, failure analysis, corrective action & preventative action activities
- Promote a culture of structured problem-solving
Supervisory Responsibility
- Provide guidance and mentoring to designated individuals, as necessary
Qualifications and Experience
Desirable Qualifications
- CQI Certificate in Quality Management Level 3
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
- HNC in Engineering
Experience/Knowledge
- Previous experience in a similar quality role will be advantageous, though training will be provided
- Knowledge of calibration requirements
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Able to use basic measuring equipment
- Knowledge of Stores and Goods Inwards
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages/quality systems
- Engineering background and experience would be necessary
