The Role

Working for Tekmar Energy, the Logistics Co-ordinator will be required to work as part of a team and carry out a wide range of logistic activities, including but not limited to export organisation and compliance management, documentation preparation and project liaison. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the role requires someone who is organised, motivated and able to support the Supply Chain Manager and Projects team on a day-to-day basis in executing projects.

Key Responsibilities

The role is a key element of the Supply Chain Department, and duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Liaise with the Projects team for project delivery and transportation requirements
  • Manage the import, export and domestic shipment of goods to clients, suppliers and Tekmar stakeholders
  • Co-ordination of inbound and outbound goods with the warehouse and packing teams
  • Co-ordination of documentation requirements, i.e., commercial invoices, export and customs documentation, certificates of origin etc.
  • Management and development of existing logistics processes and procedures
  • Development of new processes and procedures as required
  • Responsibility for updating, maintaining, and developing an internal shipment tracking system
  • Management of B2C (Business to customer) shipments, including agents/3rd parties
  • Advice on incoterms for sales and contracting activity as required
  • Support TGP stakeholders as required
  • Keep up to date with current legislation and guidelines on Exports, i.e., Dangerous goods, IPR etc.
  • Fulfil reporting requirements to Finance and Projects
  • Input and support of the FY23 Supply chain strategy/objectives
  • Any other duties as required to support the Supply chain team

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience/working knowledge in a similar role
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive working knowledge of customs laws/regulations regarding the import and export of goods
  • Project-based working, i.e. not standard and regular
  • In-depth knowledge of incoterms
  • Experience in managing multiple shipping options (Rail, Sea, Air, Road – oversized goods and container freight) dependent on cost and client/project considerations
  • B2C (Business to customer logistics)
  • 3rd-party logistics management
  • Documentation preparation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin
  • Experience or confidence in communicating with international customs locations/customer sites
  • IT skills essential – competent in the use of Microsoft Office

Skills & Qualifications

  • IoSCM / Institute of Export and International Trade qualification
  • Export compliance qualification or equivalent experience
