Group Marketing Manager

The Role

The Group Marketing Manager is responsible for all marketing and communications activity across Tekmar Group (5 entities). The role spans the entire Marketing Mix requiring a strong all-rounder to focus on elements of marketing management, communications, information and analysis, brand management, product marketing and obtaining customer feedback. The role requires impressive standards of creativity, attention to detail, and organisation. The role will have direct contact with the Managing Directors of five group companies, the CEO, and the Tekmar Group management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Management
    • Develop, implement, and continually review the Group Marketing Strategy aligned to Group’s strategic plans
    • Manage the associated budget
  • Communications
    • Corporate communications: Production of PLC reports, presentations and RNS announcements in collaboration with our advisors
    • Industry PR: Manage and publish regular content for our social media accounts and press releases
    • Maintain key media and industry relations (e.g., NOF, Renewables UK, GUH etc.)
    • Event organisation and management (internal and external). Plan and manage attendance and exhibiting at trade shows and speaking events (e.g., Renewables UK, GUH, client demonstration days, investor AGM etc.)
    • Website and social media content management
    • Marketing collateral: Development and maintenance of sales promotion presentations, videos, literature, corporate merchandise
    • Applications and strategy for industry awards (e.g., Company of the Year, Industry Awards, internal recognition)
  • Marketing Information and Analysis
    • Improve and maintain a Marketing Information System
    • Source, analyse and report, both quantitatively and qualitatively, on market information (external) and sales/financial data (internal), as required by the business
  • Brand Management
    • Develop and implement a brand strategy and guidelines across the Group
  • Strategic/Product Marketing
    • Contribute to the strategic planning process at both a business and product/service level (e.g. portfolio management, exploiting synergies and differentiators, product  promotion/launches)
  • Customer Satisfaction
    • Develop and implement customer feedback surveys (e.g. capture project feedback, implement NPS style survey, etc.)
  • Plus any additional tasks which are deemed required for the role

Knowledge and Experience

  • Subsea/Energy/Oil & Gas industry background
  • Experience of working in a similar broad-based Marketing role spanning much of the Marketing Mix
  • Working knowledge of InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and other appropriate packages
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy ability
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Impressive organisation and planning skills. Works in a methodical manner and deadline oriented
  • Excellent communicator, establishing and maintaining effective relationships across all businesses and levels
  • Flexible and motivated individual who is willing to go the extra mile
  • Experience of working within a PLC/listed business

  • Degree qualified in relevant subject
  • CIM Qualified to Level 6 or above

Senior Design Engineer

The Role

Working for Tekmar Energy, the role of the Senior Design Engineer is, as part of a team to carry out a wide range of engineering design activities, ensuring that projects meet the technical requirements in the most efficient and compliant manner.  The Senior Design Engineer will be involved in overseeing subcontracted works, through to fundamental design, mechanical and thermal simulation of components and systems, prototyping and physical testing and on-site and subcontract manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to sub-contracted engineering deliverables, reviewing, interpreting, and providing guidance on any further engineering requirements
  • Reviewing client contract documents with respect to technical input
  • Creation and checking of technical documents to support the Development, Sales, Project, and Manufacturing phases
  • Creation and checking of calculations, manufacturing drawings and general arrangements to support the products through their life cycle
  • Use of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and sketching to provide conceptual and detailed designs
  • Analysis of mechanical systems using hand calculations and non-linear FEA with ANSYS.  Developing calculation sheets and modelling methods as continual improvement
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business, take ownership of design development, manufacturing, testing and take appropriate corrective actions where required
  • Lead technical aspects of the project delivery within Internal and Client meetings
  • Efficient and rapid development of new product technologies, following a formal TRL process applied to new products, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Evaluating the performance of designs using FMEA and other techniques. Leading design reviews to ensure designs meet the required specification and industry standards
  • Drive efficient delivery of engineering deliverables

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience in a design engineering role
  • Experience in product development, design and structural analysis.
  • Good knowledge of industry and regulatory codes in offshore industry.
  • A good understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, thermal, fatigue etc).
  • Experience in selecting and designing with polymers and metals.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Subsea, Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas Industry experience.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experienced user of Autodesk Inventor or similar parametric modeller
  • Experienced user of Mathcad and/or Excel for engineering calculations
  • Experience of ANSYS
  • Experience in Orcaflex software

The Role

  • Use of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and sketching to provide conceptual and detailed designs
  • Analysis of mechanical systems using hand calculations and non-linear FEA with ANSYS
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business, take ownership of design development, manufacturing, testing and take appropriate corrective actions where required
  • Efficient and rapid development of new product technologies, following a formal TRL process applied to new products, materials, and manufacturing processes

  • Technical document writing to support the Development, Sales, Project, and Manufacturing phases
