Tekmar Group completes the 5,000 mile charity challenge

During the month of February 2021, Tekmar Group embarked on a 5,000 mile charity challenge. The challenge was simple, all employees from across Tekmar Group’s five operating companies (Ryder Geotechnical, AgileTek Engineering, Subsea Innovation, Tekmar Energy, and Pipeshield International) were invited to collectively travel 5,000 miles on foot or by bike.

The aim of the challenge was to boost the physical well-being and mental health of the Tekmar Family, a large proportion of which have spent the last 12 months working remotely through numerous lockdowns. If the target was achieved, Tekmar Group committed to donating £2,000 split across four local charities in the North East of England, East Anglia, and London where the Group is based. Charities were nominated and voted for by the team to ensure the organisations closest to their hearts were reached.

We are pleased to confirm that the target was smashed with over 7,500 miles recorded, and that donations have been made to the following charities:

Pam Lamming, Tekmar Group HR Manager said, “This is a great achievement by the Tekmar Family. We are proud to have seen so many of the team participate. Even the coldest weather recorded in the UK in the last 20 years didn’t dampen our spirits, and the friendly inter-company rivalry spurred us on. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you”.
